Stacey Garvilla is a Broadcast Meteorologist who has recently relocated to Jacksonville, Florida from Colorado Springs to assist with an ongoing family struggle. Due to the nature of the family situation, Stacey is actively seeking freelance opportunities in Jacksonville. Prior to the move, Stacey served as  the Chief Meteorologist at KRDO TV in Colorado Springs, CO. Previously, she served as the Chief Meteorologist in Joplin, MO. Stacey began her career in Joplin as the Morning and Noon Meteorologist and Co-Anchor on Local News Today in 2012.  She has served over four years in the Chief role with over seven years experience on TV full time.


Stacey graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Florida State University in 2012. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and Geography with a concentration in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Delaware in 2008.


Stacey is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM #760) from the American Meteorological Society. She is also a member of the National Weather Association. 


Stacey was awarded Best Weathercast from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters in 2017 and Honorable Mention for her 10 PM Weathercast in 2015. 


She enjoys being active in the community by doing school talks and weather presentations from kindergarten age to senior groups. Stacey has hosted parades and presented weather live on the Jumbotron for Pitt State University Football Games. She is also very active in the running community having done numerous marathons and half marathons plus the occasional mud run. Stacey enjoys running, hiking, exploring and photography.

  • Heavy experience with continuous wall to wall severe weather coverage in a team and solo environment while maintaining social media and Facebook lives. 
  • Held accountability of managing and collaborating with the weather team to keep delivery of certain weather events concise and uniform.
  • Highly active in the community emceeing a variety of events, presenting school talks, hosting live coverage of parades, delivering forecasts on the Jumbotron for college football games.

  • Experience forecasting four seasons and covering extreme weather events while assisting the chief and weather team in the evenings with severe weather coverage.
